Ego - An Obstacle

Ego,
just a three letter word, short yet powerful. It makes even a learned man fall on his face. This is one word we should all be weary of. This is the word which keeps us away from reaching god despite of our all devotions. Let not the worldly honor, pomp and show get into our heads. Most of us who are in the service of God, tend to be carried away by the praise and honor bestowed on us. We are so entangled in the verbal praise that we forget that this honor is bestowed on us by the good lord. If He can give us honor He also has the capacity to pull us down from the pedestal. Beware of Ego.

Let us drive this out of our head and always keep praying to be humble and show respect. This world is an illusion if people like what we do now, it just takes a small mistake to make them dislike us. So let us always ask to be humble and meek. Let us know that nothing is possible unless Guru blesses us. Let us pray unanimously

God today on this Beautiful day we stand in front of you, with our arms spread, we acknowledge that we are nothing, we are nobody. You are absolute and real. If we were ever to ask You for something then let it be for others. If we are to ask You anything for self, then let it be humbleness and humility. Give us patience to take everything - praise or insult as Your blessing. Help us not to be carried away by worldly honor. What we are and what we will be is all your grace. Help us to always to be humble and meek and not be carried away and never to show our ego. Help us to understand that You love an egoless person. Help us to be that person.
We give You back what You gave us - love, honor, shame, insults, credit, appreciation and praise. They arise in You and they are Your inspiration, and hence help us to let these be merged in You where they rightfully belong, so that we may never be affected by them either by showing disappointment or elation. This body is a shell created to only carry on your will. May Your will prevail and Your name be glorified.
